Think of guests too - Northern Advocate - 4th August 2010

After being involved by making a statement on the recent, Whangarei District Council, Liquor Licensing Policy Review, I have been focused on alcohol matters affecting our community. I have noticed yet again some disturbing articles relating to bad outcomes because of its misuse. Thankfully, interested parties who either sell alcohol or have to deal with the results of over consumption have recently held a workshop arming hosts with methods of fulfilling their responsibilities. It is reassuring to know that we are heading down the path of educating people how to drink in a responsible manner. Hopefully the message will also get through to those who ‘party at home’, as they too have to ensure their family and friends are safe. Even I’ll have a drink to that.
