Other model engineering clubs were visiting the Whangarei Club for the long weekend so we decided to go and check it out. Brilliant the day was, our grandson had a ball, wanting to experience all the different train rides. The weather was kind, the event well run, affordable and all the different club members being so friendly. It has been a long time since so many smiles were seen on the faces of so many. Anyone, young and old should try to check out the complex up there, it is an asset to our area.

Whangarei Model Engineering Club

We are a group of model engineers who happen to specialize in trains, although we encourage our members in any other model engineering project they are working on. The third Sunday of each month is a public running day when families can come along and ride the trains for a small fee. We also run on special open days at the Museum.
